Yea, thats how im using it.  It even ask during set up if it will be in a window.

No. The glare from the sun makes it hard to see. They tell you that in the instructions only.

Good question. Yes, you could install it this way. However, windows generally block heat sources. Since the Ring device uses PIR (Passive Infrared) to detect motion, it will not be able to detect motion very well through a window.
