Yes, it will. It will ALWAYS be watching regardless if you sign up for the Ring Protect Plan. If you don't sign up for the $10 the camera won't save motion notifications for 60 days unlimited events. You can ALWAYS perform a live view to see what's happening regardless if your camera isn't picking up the motion event.
