We don't have enough space to mount our Ring Pro to existing doorbell. Is a battery operated our only other option? Couldn't someone steal this battery making the unit inoperable? null

Only if they have the right size torque screwdriver and besides that if they try to tamper with it , you will be notified by the activation of the unit

If you have an existing hardwired doorbell. 

Then, uninstall it and install the Pro to the existing wires. 

If that is not an option. 

Then, yes you can go wireless. 

Either unit is warranted by Ring for a free replacement if stolen. 

PS. the batteries are built in to the Unit.

The thief would have to have a little star screwdriver to remove it.. unless you didn’t put the screw on the bottom in. By then his picture would be on your phone already.

They could steal it, but they would have to have the extremely tiny screwdriver that comes with it, then once they get the cover off with that, they would then have to have a larger screwdriver to unscrew all 4 corners from your brick. Meanwhile, they are caught on camera doing this. They could just as easily unscrew and separate the wires if you connect it through your regular doorbell.

Technically they would be able to. But that would be the case for all of the wireless cameras at people's house. Take advantage of Ring's monitoring service. At least then, you'll be able to see who took the camera...with limitations of course.

Not without appearing on camera. Also, it has a small screw with a unique head that you have to remove to take the battery out.
