In order to use the front doorbell it needs to be connected to the wired 2 lead wire set that runs back to your chime system. There is no fitting on the front doorbell that would allow you to connect it it. The Solar panel is only for external camera use. It also must be placed where you have more than a couple of hours of sun per day otherwise it ill not charge effectively.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You could but it would not be very practical because of how the doorbell is attached to the wall. The USB port is against the wall and not accessible when it is installed. If you had a way to run a very long USB cable to it and mount the panel outside, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Typically these doorbells are replacing existing hardwired ones and the ring can get all the power it needs from those wires.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From the Ring site: Can I use Ring Solar Panel with Ring Doorbell? No. The mounting bracket and wall Ring Doorbell is mounted to gets in the way. To keep your Ring Doorbell charged at all times, hardwire it to existing doorbell wires. If you do not have existing doorbell wires to connect to, you can wire Ring Doorbell to a low power transformer (8-24 VAC only, no DC) with a resistor in place of the doorbell kit. I bought this to use with the doorbell since it was a suggested add-on, and I deeply regret the purchase--did not realize it was not compatible until it was too late to return.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I suspect it can be connected to the doorbell, but you would have to make an accommodation for the micro USB cable sticking out of the back of the doorbell unit (as you know it installs flat against in mounting bracket and there's no clearance between the bracket and the unit). If you're charging the doorbell unit every so often, you can see how the cable would protrude from the rear of the doorbell unit; the cable from the solar panel is exactly the same.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it would work on a doorbell. Plug into same mini as you use for charging
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does not work with the doorbell. To continuously charge the doorbell, it must be hardwired to the electrical system. Fairly easy to do, if you have some basic electrical knowledge and if you plan on installing the Ring doorbell in the same place as your old doorbell. Then you can use the same wires that your old doorbell used. I will say this, customer service was very helpful and had great follow-up.
