How far can you install from Wi-Fi modem null

I have mine set up approx 500 feet from the modem keeping in mind it is a new model

Depends on the strength of your Wi-Fi router. Use a Wi-Fi device and see how far you can go from your house before it looses connection. Like all ring devices it will tell you signal strength.
