A:AnswerYou have to read the box. Ring makes both Hard Wired and Not hard wired. I have one of each of the three. I have one that is Hard Wired , that is a Spotlight Cam. I also have the stick up up one that you have to recharge the battery and the Stick up cam with the solar charger. They all work very well. The Solar one has two rechargeable batteries and seems to be holding a good charge. The Spotlight Cams are Hard wired.
A:AnswerNo, not that I’m aware of. I’ve studied the app quite well and have learned all the features. The only way to activate the siren is to do it manually. Once you’ve been notified of activity near your camera it takes just a moment to look and see if there is any suspicious activity. Then BAM... scare the begeebers out of them!
A:AnswerTurned off completely no, they are preset to record video and alert you when they detect motion. The motion field can be adjusted, you can choose whether or not to also activate the light, and you can manually control the siren and two way audio.
You can click “live feed” and manually activate any of your cameras instantly in the app also. The only way to completely turn the cameras off is to remove the battery.
A:AnswerAfter the initial period there is a fee to save the videos but it is reasonable. We did not get the deluxe package just the ability to keep what we need.
A:AnswerIn my opinion I would highly recommend it. The solar panel eliminates the need of having to mess with changing out the batteries for recharging. Especially if you’ve got a camera in a high traffic area your battery will drain quickly. The solar panel makes this system much more efficient.
A:AnswerI love the Ring!!! We set it up in the front and back of our house. We are able to adjust the distance and notifications as needed. It’s nice to see what’s happening in the neighborhood
A:AnswerIt runs off of wifi but there is a monthly fee to have the recording and playback features. It is a $3 fee per month for each device or $30 fee per year.
A:AnswerIt does record both video and audio. After you buy it has a 30 day cloud free for storage after that you may want to purchase their service or if you dont need to store the videos its okay too. Totally up to your preference
A:AnswerMy system was installed a week ago Wednesday. The batteries on 2 of the 3 units (spot cam) died 6 days later. Doorbell still working, but it is hot-wired. I may not understand how all this is connected, but it seems a bit soon.
A:AnswerHi Oulie,
The Spotlight Cam Battery is weather resistant and operates in temperatures -5 to 120 degrees F (-20.5 to 48.5 degrees C) .
