  • QuestionI own an unattended laundromat. Sometimes people stay long after the closing. Can I use ring to ask them to leave? Is it legal to use ring in a commercial setting ease dropping on customers conversations?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello, Thanks for contacting me. We would recommend that you clearly and conspicuously notify your customers that audio / visual surveillance is taking place on the premises and that you never record persons where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy (such as bathrooms or changing areas). That being said, Ring is not able to provide legal advice, and we recommend that you consult with a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction if you have any doubt about whether your use is legal. • QuestionWhat is the distance the camer covers , not he angle

    Asked by Mike.

    • Answer Spotlight works great at eye-level, or slightly higher. At 5 to 7 feet from the ground, your Spotlight Cam can cover a wide visual area, as well as capture HD video of visitors' faces. When Spotlight Cam is mounted too high, it often gets angled sharply downwards. This can work if you're only looking to detect motion in a very small area, but more often than not results in not detecting approaching visitors or capturing the top of heads when the motion sensors are triggered. • QuestionWhat would be the monthly fees be for a ring doorbell and 3 ring cameras?

    Asked by AnthonyZ.

    • Answer Hello AnthonyZ, Great question! Our Ring Protect Plans start at $3/month or $30/year per Ring device for the Basic Plan, and $10/month or $100/year for the Plus Plan, which includes unlimited camera and doorbell devices at one location. So for three cameras and one doorbell, the Basic Plan would cost $12 per month and the Plus Plan would cost $10 per month. With a Ring Protect plan on your account, each live view, ding and motion event are stored in the cloud for up to 60 days (in the USA). The Plus Plan provides even more perks by adding an exclusive discount at Ring.com, extended warranties on all devices within warranty at one location, professional monitoring for the Ring Alarm, and more! If you would like to know more about what each of these plans have to offer, you can view this information on our website here: https://shop.ring.com/pages/protect-plans. Thank you, Alexis with Ring

  • QuestionDoes this send motion alerts to your phone?

    Asked by Danielle.

    • Answer Yup, it certainly does. You do have to download the app of course to get them. You can even control how frequently you get alerts as well as how wide of an area you want it to cover. You can also download the videos it makes when it detects motion. Also it should be noted that there is a subscription service that to be honest I am not sure if you truly need because I just did it when I got my first one. There is a basic plan that is foor one camera and gives u a yr warranty, and allows you to have access to the videos for 60 days. Now it also says included with the plan is the alerts, custom alerts, live videos on demand, being able to review, share, and save the videos, and then snapshot capture. Then the plus plan adds professional monitoring to it and discounts at ring.com. So I am not sure if you need the subscription to get all the alerts and stuff because as I said, I had had it since getting my first camera. You even then can use the neighbors app that will give you alerts about things that have happened within like a 5 mile radius of you. I really like it personally. Hope that was not too much info for ya lol!!! Just figured you might like the 411 on it before buying.

  • QuestionI want to add these two cams to my existing front door Ring. Will I have to pay extra monthly fee or am I covered since I already have the service?

    Asked by Paul.

    • Answer If you have the Protect Basic plan, you'd have to purchase a separate plan for each device. If you have (or upgrade to) the Project Plus plan, every Ring device at your location is covered for one monthly fee.
