We would recommend that you clearly and conspicuously notify your customers that audio / visual surveillance is taking place on the premises and that you never record persons where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy (such as bathrooms or changing areas). Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The "Live view" option allows you to watch activity within view of the camera and allows two way audio between you and whoever you are watching. So, yes you can ask them to leave. The camera is passive and no one knows they are being filmed. Live view video is also stored in the Ring cloud. Can't answer the legality question.

Audio can be turned off to avoid listening in on conversation while still being able to communicate. However, there are much better systems on the market. Check into the Arlo Pro.
