A:AnswerHi PunkFunk,
Great question! No, Ring does not offer the option of saving videos without a Ring Protect Plan. A Ring Protect Plan is an optional subscription that gives you access to paid features for Ring devices such as doorbells, cameras, and alarms. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account. Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events. A:AnswerYou can set the camera to record at all times or either when motion is detected. You can also go live and record at any time. The audio is very good.
A:AnswerFair question, and you kinda have a point. The lights on these cameras are more or less like small flood lights. However, the lights aren't powerful enough to be considered true flood lights. My best guess, is to differentiate from the actual hardwired floodlight cameras Ring sells.
A:AnswerOne takes 2 battries while the other takes one. One doesn't have a spit light while the other does. I have 2 spot lights and the spot comes on when they detect animals or people at night. While I have other tyoes around my house where i didn't need spot lights for.
A:AnswerNothing. The floodlight cameras just provide you with better light and able to spread it over an area where the Spotlight is only in the direction of the camera.
A:AnswerYes, but you would get constant notifications that the camera lost power and could shorten the camera life by being turned on and off. Not worth it. Buy the battery version instead.
A:AnswerThe Ring camera system operates on 2.4 Ghz ban. However, most routers that utilize the 5 Ghz band are multi-band and will also transmit at 2.4 Ghz. Check your router specs as it probably is dual or tri band and include the 2.4 Ghz band.
A:AnswerYou can definitely hook it to a solar panel. It comes with one battery and two batter slots. They sell a solar panel, which I recommend as the battery drains at a decent pace and takes a while to recharge, leaving you without coverage for that time.
