Must have internet, ring cameras and devices are connected to wifi then bounced to ring servers then to your viewing device. You may want to look for a camera that uses onboard storage "micro SD card" that you can remove to review footage. Maybe eufy or blink.

For the wired yes you must always have power, but there is a slot in in for a battery which I’m going too install in mines just in case something happens with the power.
