the camera provide a good wide range that covers my area very effectively-- more than 30 feet

Motion detection range on Ring devices is up to around 30 feet with the motion sensitivity slider at the maximum level. We recommend mounting the device 8 to 10 feet (2.5 to 3 meters) from the ground with a 20-degree tilt for optimal performance.
