Mine is outside, rather than inside the house, but settings alow you to either snooze or turn off the motion detection. The camera would, however, still be working. I suppose you could just take it down, or remove the battery, to ensure nothing would be recorded.

You can also disable motion recording, alerts, and audio right from the app to give you some peace and quiet.
