Use a drill and very small drill bit, smaller than the screws included to start a hole for the screws and the mounting plate. Then use a Phillips head adapter with the drill or a Phillips screw driver to mount the plate. The slide the camera onto the plate. Give it a go. I t can be done. I have mine sitting flat without a mount. Works well, but I need to check my setting to get feedback on my phone. My 4 year old ring also work great with the new 5G wireless.
