“When you open up the camera just to check on your home will it automatically start recording or can you just look at your Home and not have it record every time you look on the live camera”

Hi Maxin. Good question. If you are subscribed to a Ring Protect Plan, your device will automatically record every event. Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer general motion and doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don't get video recordings of those events.
