The ring doorbells, at least v4 is battery powered. The y can be connected to solar charger, or a standard door bell power supply. I initially used and swapped batteries when the rechargeable battery got low, Since I did not have a hardwired doorbell. Then I upgraded and use the power of the sun to charge V4 batteries with a solar cell charger accessory. See pictures and install instructions available on line.

Another option would be to use the Ring Plugin Adapter. The Ring Plug-In Adapter (2nd Gen) installs in minutes and keeps your doorbell powered without hardwired installation or taking batteries out to recharge them. Built for the Ring Video Doorbell, Video Doorbell (2nd Gen), Video Doorbell 2, Video Doorbell 3/3+, and Video Doorbell Pro and Pro 2. The Plug-in Adapter will keep the battery charged inside the battery powered doorbells and provide direct power for the Video Doorbell Pro and Pro 2. It does include a 10-foot cable with clips and comes with built-in short circuit protection. Connects to standard indoor AC power outlets only.
