QuestionCan this system use the doorbells chime that is currently in my intercom doorbell? My current doorbell plays an 8 tone pleasant chime to speakers in each room and it interrupts the wall radio very conveniently. Will I be able to keep these features?

- Answer I expect it will work with your system, if the current doorbell is wired to your door with low Voltage wire. The Ring doorbell will use this connection for Power and will also act as a switch to signal your current doorbell to ring like it did before. I did not have to change any hardware inside the house. Just remove the existing external doorbell button with the Ring and install the software app on your phone and follow the install information.

- Answer Just like you I did not know there is a charge to store videos. First month is free and after that, $3 per month for the Ring Protect plan.

QuestionCan the range of motion be adjusted? I live on a corner and get a lot of car traffic. I would not want to pick up every vehicle that goes through the intersection!

- Answer Hi Ani, Good question! Setting up the motion detector does require a bit of maneuvering to find the sweet spot, however we can assist you with honing these settings to make sure you receive the alerts that matter to you. The way the motion detection on the Ring works is by heat detection. Setting your range low makes your Ring look for a very large heat signature before it will notify you. - Answer NO. It has to have wifi. Can you add a wifi repeater half way between the door bell and the house?

- Answer The Ring uses rechargeable battery, internet and cell phone to operate. It does not use existing wiring or your door bell chime. It chimes over your cell phone if someone is in the area of your device or pushes the ring button on the ring device. You can also program to alert multiple phones if you like. It mounts to the exterior wall next to your door. When someone walks past the camera they are immediately recorded and the ring alerts you by notifying you via your cell phone that someone is in the vicinity of your Ring door bell device. If they push the button you will again be notified that someone is at your door. The set up does not take very long and relatively easy.

- Answer In wireless configuration it can be mounted anyware the wifi will reach. As long as the width of jam is 2 and 1/2 inches wide. Ive done them directly on the wooden door. No problem at all.

- Answer Yes the signal goes through walls. I have a doorbell on my front door & one on my side door which is a lot further away. My Chime is inside closest to the front door. I did buy the Chime with the Wi Fi extender. I bought the regular one but took it back and exchanged it for the pro with the wi fi extender. It did work on both though. My Internet connection is upstairs.

- Answer I would call ring or get online and ask for or create a new account and provide them the information and see if you can utilize the ring camera that was left behind at your home. I have two ring cameras but they are at both of my homes. I just activated my new camera at my new home a few weeks ago. I just left my older camera at my older home since my son lives there . I already paid for a year of service at the older home anyway.
