A:AnswerYesssss!!! I also have an alarm system, along with my Ring doorbell, Ring floodlight on the side of my home, and Ring in my backyard. They provide extra protection around the home. Also, you are alerted to any movement at your front sor and can communicate with anyone when they ring your doorbell.
A:AnswerYes - the sun causes my ring to alert me to motion, especially when it disappears and reappears around the wooden railing I have on my front porch deck. It also alerts if it suddenly gets brighter or dimmer due to a cloud. The good news is that you can set motion alert zones, so if you find one problematic area you can eliminate it from setting a motion alert off. Also I live in Alaska and the sun doesn't exactly go "overhead" it's almost almost always seems to be at eye level.
The ring camera will adjust itself based on how much light there is, so you will still get a video of what is going on. I also notice there are different levels of motion alerts as I get an orange motion detected, a blue/stronger motion detected, and if the button is pushed for a doorbell, you get a "Someone is at your door" alert. Overall, I really like it - I do wish there was a way to hard wire the video feed to my router and store videos locally, rather than WiFI and on the cloud. I have other wired cameras for that purpose though. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerWelcome to the RING Family !! I personally have 6 different cameras. Two overhead with lights and 4 doorbell cameras that I place in many different areas as needed. I bought an ipad just to use for the cameras as they were draining on my cellphone although I DO use the cellphone a lot for watching.
A:AnswerYes it will, you will receive a notification even if the person does not actually ring the doorbell. You can choose to accept if they ring and actually talk to the person or choose to watch through the camera on the ring.
A:AnswerI can't give a specific answer as it would depend on how much you watch the live feed or videos. If you aren't watching the video feed often I would assume it wouldn't use a ton of data. If you are opening the app and watching the video feed every time motion is detected if could add up fast.
A:AnswerDo you have two devices? One at home and another at vacation home.
Even if it’s one device (or two or multiple) which you move around, it should send notifications to one phone which has the app assuming your device has WiFi connectivity.
