It only comes on when someone comes close to it . Very bad QUALITY product ,not worth the money. Wish they spent more on the product than promoting this Returning it to store !

When the doorbell is pushed - the camera turns on, notifies the owner through the chime and the Ring app allows you to view the camera on your mobile device. 2. The camera is activated by motion - you set the sensitivity using the app - you are notified of motion (through the app) at your front door and you can view the camera in real time or through a recorded clip of the event on your mobile device. 3. You can manually turn on and view the camera through the Ring app - view the camera for as long as the Ring app is open on your mobile device.
