Hi Kk. Good question. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) is battery-powered and can be installed just about anywhere. You will want to be sure there is a good wifi connection wherever you install your device. For optimal motion detection, it should be installed at the correct height, approximately 48 inches above the ground.
