It can be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 8–24 VAC, 40 VA max, and 50–60 Hz for continuous charging. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I hardwired mine with the battery in it. I am not sure if there is an option to remove the battery. The battery stays charged, and it will act as a backup in case of a power outage.
