mine had 3, only 2 are used to seal cover.

The wood screws are used to affix the mounting bracket to your door or wall. Once the device is installed, use the star-shaped end of the screwdriver bit to tighten the security screws into the bottom of the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) faceplate to help deter theft.
