The Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) is compatible with AC-powered door chimes operating between 8-24 volts. As long as you have a compatible setup, and your device is properly installed, your doorbell will receive a trickle charge from the wires. This trickle charge will help prolong the battery life on your device. Please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/.
