You most likely will need to boost your Wi-Fi signal if using the doorbell wirelessly. Or you can run standard doorbell wire to the doorbell.

Depends on your wifi strength. Stand at the gate (or wherever you want to mount it). Do you have a solid wifi connection through your smart phone or tablet? If so, you're good. If not, then they have an optional Chime wifi extender that you plug into an outlet (in garage?) This may help.

Really depends on your Wi-Fi. You could get a Wi-Fi repeater to extend the signal closer to the gate.

You can try. You have to be able to get a signal. It is worth a try and if it doesn't work just return it.
