The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a hardwired only device. It is compatible with most existing doorbell systems, a Ring plug-in adapter, or a transformer (10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz, or 24VDC, 0.5A, 12W). It is not compatible with halogen or garden-lighting transformers. We've included a link below that details the installation process for this doorbell. I live in a condo, and it worked for me fine replacing the regular old doorbell.
