Q: QuestionWhat if I don't have an existing doorbell?

- A:Answer If you don’t have existing wiring from a doorbell on your house, you can also purchase an AC adapter from ring to power it. It should work on this version just like on others.

Q: QuestionCAN I MAKE IT SO THAT IT RING WITH MY EXSISTING DOOR BELL ?
Asked by DAVE.
- A:Answer Hello DAVE, Great question! The Ring Doorbell Wired uses an included jumper cable to bypass your home’s internal chime kit, so it will not ring inside. If you’d like audio notifications inside your home, you’ll need to purchase a Ring Chime to hear them. All of Ring’s other battery and hardwired doorbell models (Ring Doorbell Pro, Ring Doorbell Pro 2, Ring Doorbell (2020 Release), Ring Doorbell 3/3+, and Ring Doorbell 4) will work with in home chime kits and AC current doorbell transformers. Q: Questionif i live in a condominiums not a house can i hook ring up to a regular door with a regular door bell
Asked by dayday.
- A:Answer Hi Dayday, The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a hardwired only device. It is compatible with most existing doorbell systems, a Ring plug-in adapter, or a transformer (10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz, or 24VDC, 0.5A, 12W). It is not compatible with halogen or garden-lighting transformers. We've included a link below that details the installation process for this doorbell. This should help you determine if the Ring Video Doorbell Wired is compatible with your condominium's doorbell. https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054984332-Video-Doorbell-Wired-Installation-Guide For any additional questions, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/. Q: QuestionDo you need a Chime for this to work or will it work with an existing doorbell that isn't a Ring brand?
Asked by LindseyK.
- A:Answer You do not need a chime to use this Ring, but you will not have an audible sound. Your Ring app will notify you when it is activated. Ring does not work with other brands. Instructions will have you bypass your previous doorbell chime during installation.

Q: QuestionCan I use ring doorbell in Costa rica
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes! I’ve been using the Ring doorbell and security cameras at our house in Costa Rica for several years now and, providing you have decent internet, it works great! The only caveat is that Ring’s Neighbors app is not available and doesn’t work for that location, but the Ring doorbell and camera app itself functions flawlessly (most of the time). We use Ring at our home in Florida as well and I love being able to monitor and receive notifications for both houses on the same app. I attached a screenshot of my Ring app settings showing how you can easily toggle between locations when you want to manually view cameras at one house or the other, but it doesn’t matter which location you’re viewing when it comes to activity notifications. I receive notifications regardless of which location I am currently using as my “active” view. You can also customize what notifications you receive. I hope they make the Neighbors app available in Costa Rica soon as it’s a really useful tool, but you don’t need it for the Ring app itself to function. We have the 2 houses on Ring right now, and I’m going to be adding a Ring system on our boat too. I’m curious to see how that will work using Starlink for the internet connection and moving around to different countries. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, but we shall see. :-). I understand that this question was posted a couple of years ago now, but I hope my answer will be helpful to anyone else wondering about whether Ring will work in Costa Rica - or beyond!

We want to ensure that we can answer any questions you may have concerning how the Ring Protect Plans work and how to save/share your videos, when necessary. Answered by Tommyboy
Q: QuestionCan this doorbell connect to two different iPhones?
Asked by Susan.
- A:Answer Hello Susan, Great question! Yes, once you've set up a device in your Ring app, you'll be the sole account owner. As the account owner, you have control over all of the settings on your Ring devices. If you want to use multiple electronic devices (tablet, another phone, etc.) to control your Ring devices, download the Ring app onto the additional devices and use the same login and password you use to log into the Ring app. A Shared User is a person who has permission to watch live video feed, view video recordings, and receive notifications or alerts for a Ring device that you own. You can give a Shared User the ability to view one or more of the devices on your Ring account. You can grant or revoke Shared User access at any time. Shared Users must have their own Ring account, and use their email and password to log in. If you have multiple Ring devices, you must add the Shared User to each device individually. Here is a helpful article that elaborates on using the Ring app on multiple devices: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/211018223-Allowing-Access-to-Shared-Users-and-Controlling-Ring-Devices-with-Multiple-Electronic-Devices.
