    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello, The Ring Chime Pro (2nd Generation) is an updated version of the Ring Chime Pro (1st generation) wifi extender. Like the original Chime Pro (1st generation), the Chime Pro (2nd generation) extends wifi coverage through your house specifically to Ring devices. The Ring Chime Pro (2nd generation) plugs it into a wall socket and is connected through the Ring app to your wifi signal. • QuestionCan I wire the football into a ring solar panel?

    Asked by Maddie.

    • Answer Hello Maddie, To clarify, the Ring Doorbell Wired can not be powered by a Ring Solar Panel. It does require a existing doorbell system, Ring plug-in adapter or transformer for power supply (10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz, or 24VDC, 0.5A, 12W. It is not compatiable with halogen or garden-lighting transformers. Ring Community was launched to help deliver the most current news and educational information to our neighbors. • QuestionCan the echo be programmed to ring/ chime with the doorbell or will I still need a chime to here the bell ring indoors?

    Asked by Finally.

    • Answer All models of Echo can be programmed through the Alexa app to chime when the door bell is pushed. If you have an Echo Spot or Show it will also show the video if you ask it to. “Alexa, show me the front door”. A couple things to keep in mind. Your current doorbell transformer is probably underpowerd and unable to keep constant video. You may have to purchase a new one. The hard part is finding it. Ours was in the crawl space attached to a junction box that required me to take apart a light. Installation was semi easy. Turn off the power, dismount the old, connect 5 wires on the new and remount it. As for using Alexa for the chime, the only issue we have encountered is that if someone turns the volume down, we can’t always here her say “ someone is at the front door” I decided to allow push notifications to my phone also because that is generally near me. Another thing to think about is the height of your current button. Ours was below the door handle and we could only see the stomach and chest of our visitors. I had to drill a hole higher, fish new wire down, and then wood fill, sand, and paint the old hole. One thing that I searched the internet for and never found a great answer, is how a back door bell works. There is a jumper wire that goes in your wall chime to bypass it for your front door, but I wondered if that would stop the back door from chiming. If you have a back door bell it will still function as it should. It will just use the wall chime as normal. This is because the jumper bypasses the front and there is another connector for the rear.. or vice versa depending where you look to install yours.
