  • Questionif I wire to existing door bell wireing will they ring when ring button is punched ?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello. We appreciate the time you have taken to ask this question. No, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires existing doorbell wiring for its power supply, but it does not sound your existing doorbell chime. To hear audio alerts in your home, pair it with a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa device (each sold separately). • QuestionMy doorbell is a perpendicular to my door how can I angle my ring in the direction that I need. Does ring make something to fix this ? If so where can I get it and if not what can I do ?

    Asked by Ryan.

    • Answer Ring does provide a plastic angle device in order to reposition slightly the view of the camera. Because of the extreme wide-angle view provided by the camera most would find only a minor adjustment is all that is needed. I shifted the angle slightly by placing a length of wiring under one side of the camera before securing the two provided screws.

  • QuestionCan we get someone to connect and set this and other ring cameras up?

    Asked by Cathy.

    • Answer Hi Cath. Thank you for your question today! The Ring doorbells and camera's are designed with a dyi setup in mind. With this in mind, Ring doesn't offer a first party installation onsite support. There are a few third party installation support companies you can contact. Some of these third party installation support companies are OnTech and Greek Squad. • QuestionHow long is the AC cord?

  • QuestionWe just upgraded our wifi to 5GHz. Is this doorbell camera compatible with this? Our other doorbell camera from another company was not

    Asked by Rand.

    • Answer This camera works on 2.4GHz as noted in superfine print on the side of the box. In my case I used a dual router, setting up the Ring on 2.4GHz then switching my phone back to 5GHz.

  • QuestionDoes this model of ring video door bell require batteries? ring - Wi-Fi Video Doorbell - Wired

    Asked by MREY.

    • Answer No, it does not need batteries. Wired means it is powered by a wire, like all old doorbells used to be. It does require a transformer to step down the power because it does not operate on 120 volts. Your old transformer may work if you are replacing an older wired doorbell but I would check that the voltage is correct for this doorbell.

  • QuestionDoes it have motion detection

    Asked by Dwilly49.

    • Answer Yes ...it will sense motions. But it works far better than non-camera infrared sensing devices that in hot weather have difficulty distinguishing between body temperature and ambient air temperature when trying to detect motion. The Ring, like most camera based monitors use video "pixel shifting" as a way to identify motion. This ability to pick up motion is so good the camera's algorithm for sensing motion is adjustable in order to distinguish between humans only and say a butterfly, or a small animal that would effect pixels only at the bottom of the image.

  • QuestionI want to replace my old ring doorbell with this model. Does it use the same mounting.

    Asked by Jimmy.

    • Answer This design uses a standard Top and Bottom mounting screws. A standard doorbell is the best way to describe it. Same wiring. Color of wire does not need to be on a specific post.

  • QuestionWill this ring work with 5g wifi?

    Asked by Brush.

    • Answer The box fine print says 2.4GHz. You would need a more expensive 5GHz model with likely better resolution, or as in my case a dual router that offers both 2.4 and 5GHz.
