This camera works on 2.4GHz as noted in superfine print on the side of the box. In my case I used a dual router, setting up the Ring on 2.4GHz then switching my phone back to 5GHz.

The Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires an 802.11 b/g/n wifi connection at 2.4 GHz and a minimum upload speed of 1 Mbps, but 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
