Hi Rand. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. No, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired is not compatible with a 5 GHz wifi connection. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires an 802.11 b/g/n wifi connection at 2.4 GHz and a minimum upload speed of 1 Mbps, but 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
