  • QuestionI live in a apartment complex without doorbells. Can I still purchase the ring for security & monitor purposes?! Or do I have to have a doorbell for the ring to work?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer I would think you would have to buy the battery operated ring with the chime as the doorbell as a package. If you do not need a door ell, don't get the chime. You can use your phone to view people who come to your door.

  • QuestionAt the moment, I have a wired standard door bell. May I wire this Ring door bell to the existing wires? In addition to being able to see who's outside on my phone, will it ring on my existing chime? Regards.

    Asked by JoeC.

    • Answer You can wire it to your existing doorbell wires. Some units require a larger 40VA 16 or 24 volt transformer. It will not ring your chime. You can purchase a wireless ring chime. I've installed 4 of these systems as an electrician.

    Asked by Anonymous.

  • QuestionI only have internet through my cell will ring work

    Asked by Babydoll.

    • Answer Hi Babydoll. Thanks for asking. No, Ring video doorbells and security cameras are intended to be used with a home wifi network, not a mobile device hotspot. Using a hotspot instead of your home wifi network may cause failed setup attempts or your Ring device to continually disconnect from wifi.
