I would think you would have to buy the battery operated ring with the chime as the doorbell as a package. If you do not need a door ell, don't get the chime. You can use your phone to view people who come to your door.

A battery-powered video doorbell that can be paired with a Ring Chime or a compatible Alexa device may be a better option if there is no existing doorbell at your location.
