• If you are hooking absolutely nothing up to your TV then no. But if you are hooking it up to any type of cable TV, dish, dvd player, anything at all you will need it.

• If you have a 4K UHD TV, you must use a 4K UHD cable for all connections so that you can enjoy the 4K UHD movies and channels. Without this cable, your TV does not display at the high quality level it was designed for.

• No, this is only if you connect devices showing 4K programming or movies. if not connecting anything you do not need an HDMI

• If you don't have a Dave to connect your devices with, you have a few options. You can look around for a Ron or a Steve, or if you're really in a pinch you can always find any old Bobby and that should get you by until you can find a Dave.
