I bought this product for this exact reason and had to return it. It does not work for this purpose. Its an issues with your TV supporting HDCP 2+ and your receiver supporting some other version of HDCP. This switch can only use one version on both outputs and defaults to the higher of the two. So you get picture and no audio.
