- Answer No, this will only allow you to duplicate 1 source onto 2 screens. To my knowledge, there is no simple way to do what you want to do (split 1 HDMI signal into 2 separate independent signals). There may be a way to do this through USB ports, but the quality would be questionable. If you have a laptop that is compatible with a docking station, some docking stations come with 2 HDMI ports and would potentially allow for what you are attempting to do. Also, if you happen to have a DVI port on your laptop, there are converters for switching DVI ports to HDMI ports. I am certainly no expert, and there could be some device relessed tomorrow that allows for what you are asking, but this is what I gathered back when I was originally researching this product about where this stands today.

QuestionI only have 1 HDMI plug on my old TV to which Fios box is connected, so I can't plug Apple TV. Will this device allow me to plug Fios + Apple TV if I plug it in the TV ? Thanks.

- Answer No. This device splits a signal to 2 different TVs. What you're looking for is an HDMI switch. A switch takes multiple signals and let's you choose which 1 you want to see on you're TV through 1 input.

- Answer The splitter puts out both audio and video from both HDMI out ports. I have mine hooked up to 2 TVs and both get audio and video. If i am watching on one TV and turn on the other. there will be a short (few seconds) loss of connection while the other connection is made.Then both work at once with no degradation of signal.

QuestionI’m trying to use the signal for 1 cable box on 2 TVs. 1 tv is 3ft away, the other is 50ft away. Will this device work? I already bought 3 different splitters and because of the 50ft distance, none of the splitters worked. Your advice is greatly apprecia.

- Answer No, it will not push 50' reliably. 35' is the "guaranteed", reliable distance for HDMI protocol in general when using CERTIFIED quality cables going directly from source to display. Some may get a further distance (45' - 50') but it depends on SEVERAL varibles: 1) The source box (Dish, Direct TV, Xbox, etc), 2) Your display, 3) Your cable. Best advice - trial and error. Start with high quality cables running the particular distance BEFORE you introduce a "speed bump" like a splitter or switch. You might try equal lengths of all three cables to/from this splitter (e.g. 6 ft HDMI cables) to test the device. Then increase your cable length the minimum you must to the display. Don't bend the cable, be careful with the connector. PS Make sure your source (Xbox, Dish etc) is set up to output the appropriate resolution & audio protocol you need for your display / room / etc.

- Answer Ok, I finally got a long enough HDMI cable to connect my receiver to the Thenaudio ZONE-2 Processor, and wow, it actually works -- I have audio output from the TV (via eARC port) playing on both my soundbar and receiver simultaneously! And neither audio sound stages seems to have any delay -- that is, no echo effects! I'll need to do more extensive testing with various video streams, but so far, I'm very impressed!
