“Do I have to use an HDMI cable (from my TV) to plug directly into the router to experience 1080p? I'm getting a new TV and in the past I've always just used WiFi to stream shows. The new tv is 1080p, QLED and UHD.”

• Honestly it depends on how strong your WiFi is. Most WiFi today should get the job done.

• If you have a Smart TV and you use Wi-Fi to stream content, you do not need an HDMI cable. If you want to connect a Cable Box to the TV you need an HDMI cable.
