Why does my picture on my new LG 50” fade when viewing from the side? The picture is beautiful when viewing from the front null

Check to see if there is any information in your manual or on the website if this has some sort of anti glare screen built into the TV. This would be the reason this happens. Also is this an LCD or an LED....as I have noticed that some of the new LED tvs have that anti glare and unless you have a direct line of sight it does fade when looking at it from and angle

I believe this is an issue with the TV and type of screen display on the TV, not the HDMI cable you have.

This is due to the viewing angle of the TV. Not all TVs have viewing that are 180 degrees. Some are like 178 or so and then there are some that are less than this. So if it is less than this, your picture will fade the closer you get to the side of the TV.

It’s the tv screen itself. Depending on what type of display you have, (lcd, plasma, dlp, etc.), it will dim if not viewed straight on.
