I bought a 4k tv and connected a sound bar but I only get sound through the antenna . When I watch Netflix or anything other than cable it doesn't work. Will this HDMI cable make a difference? null

The HDMI cable should not make a difference. You should be able to change the audio settings on the TV so that the TV speakers are off, and that the sound bar becomes the primary source of sound. If you have XFINITY (not sure if this works for other cable providers), you are also able to program the XFINITY remote so that it can turn on / off both the sound bar and the TV at the same time. Hi, it might be your T.V that’s not compatible with the sound bar because I had the same issue with the Samsung curve t.v and the bose 300 sound bar and once I change the t.v to another model it works perfect.

On my tv I have a ARC hdmi spot that plugs from tv to my receiver this is the only way I can get sound from streaming from internet.

You might have to go into your tv settings and activate the speakers. The HDMI cable should certainly work with the system.

The problem isn't the cable. You need to choose the external speaker on your tv and yorlur soundbar needs to be ARC able. ARC means audio reverse channel.
