• This cable allows you to connect HDMI enabled devices to your TV, including Blu-ray players, cable/satellite boxes, gaming consoles and A/V receivers. If you don't have any HDMI device, you don't need this cable.

• you don't have to buy this exact hdmi cable, but if u need an hdmi cable, its hard to beat this for the price. New TVs require the use of hdmi cables for the picture.
