I have a question. I just bought an Acer 27 inch 165hz monitor for my son for his alienware alpha r2. For some reason it doesn't work with this computer. But I hooked it up to his xbox 1 and it works fine. The monitor seems to just keep searching for a signal when hooked up to the alienware but works just fine wumith his xbox 1. Any ideas?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your laptop is only capable of 60 Hz output thats all your monitor will display
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The laptop will only generate 60hz regardless of the cable or monitor capability
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your 60Hz laptop can only distribute 60Hz to it's HDMI port, it's the limitation of the laptop, your info about the HDMI cable is correct. - - - - You will probably have to get a desktop computer - whos graphics card can support the 144Hz HDMI output to your 144Hz monitor. - - - - - but not all desktop computers have the ability to attach another monitor so don't assume that it does.
