This is all dependent on your specific application. You choose the length of the cable that specifically meets your needs. A 4 ft cable could work for some, and others may need 25ft or more.

It all depends how far your TV is from where your player is. Four feet is long enough if the unit is close to the TV. Other wise you will have to get a tape measure to measure the length. Unless you got a 4K TV you can use a regular HDMI cable. Also you have to have a 4K player to get the definition on a 4K TV.
