• The shortest run, the better - - - you will get signal and picture quality degradation if the cable is too long - - - - - use a tape measure to figure out what length you need, never guesstimate the length.

• I would say measure from the back of your tv to the unit your going to connect it to. I usually grab a cord a little longer than I need to give the cord some slack so it's not in a bind.
