You can get your hands in behind. It's tight but you can tilt the TV and squeeze your hand in.

Yes. The Directv genie fits behind tv and out of site. Remote control not affected by being behind tv

Make cable connections first before hanging the tv or you have to bring it down again to connect your hdmi cable

Depending where your inputs are, if you cant reach them with the TV tilted down then tilt it all the way up to make all your connections. There is more than enough room.
