• I am not sure what you mean "work with a cable box" the mount it self is designed to be used for a television to be mounted to the wall.

• The Rocket fish tilting mount will only support mounting the TV. That is not to say that a bracket could not be added for the cable box, but I would not recommend it.

• This Rocketfish - Tilting TV Wall Mount is for a television itself. It will not hold a cable box.

• Works fine with cables. The mount has holes for the cables to keep them out of the way.

• The cable box will not be attached to the TV or the mount. The cable will still need to be attached, but should not be an issue.
