The recommended height is for the center of the TV to be at eye level while seated, but you could adjust it to suit your preference
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A lot of this will come down to personal preference. You will want to see recommended viewing distances additionally. It can also depend on lighting in the room. I just mounted a 50" plasma in a room with 9' ceilings (basement actually). Have lighting on dimmers, so we can create ambiance in the room. However, when I mounted it, I knew I wanted the TV to be on the top half of the wall, we ended up about 8" down from the ceiling (we have a soffit built in all the way around the room. It ended at the perfect height and plan on doing built ins below the TV now.
