I have this mount above a corner fireplace that had a large cavity designed for a tube TV. I mounted a solid hardwood board across the caving and fixed to the studs on either side using angle brackets. The mount is bolted to the board (nuts and bolts rather than just lag bolts) and is working fine. I’m using it with a 55 inch Samsung TV.
