The owner's manual did address using two systems, I believe that it will allow it, they just need to sync with each other...the transmitter/receiver matched pair. I suggest more research for a definitive answer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The main problems with that idea are you will not get 7.1 because it is 5.1. Your plan would only add an additional pair of rear speakers. May be a waste. Also the rear surround boxes connect with speaker wires. You would need 2 sets of speaker wires from the onkyo to each rear surround box. Not sure if they would interfere with eachother. I am running the rocketfish surround setup also but with just 1 set of surround speakers.
