I haven't tried it, but I'm think it would work. When I hooked up my rear speakers, I tested each speaker at a time and it worked. 
It should work with one (subwoofer) speaker. I not you can always return the device.

they had a sub-woofer kit specific. That's what I 1st bought on another sight. I haven't seen it on their website though

There is no input for a subwoofer. Only red/black wire inputs. 

If your subwoofer has an external power source and you are willing to cut the wire to the subwoofer to get black/red inputs, it should work. In principle.
