I have a Roku 3500R and the Remote stop working. I had download the App so I can use my phone as a remote control. I had moved and now I can't use my phone to connect to WiFi, so I can set up the Roku3500R. Can a universal remote work for this model 3800R null

Try a hard reboot by pressing the reset and holding it down for 20 secs. You will see fast blinking light then slow blinking light.

Rest the Unit, delete the app on the phone redownload and setup both form scratch. it sounds like its an IP address issue. this unit only uses wifi and bluetooth, a universal will not work.
