To get most of the regular channels you still have to have some sort of TV provider but Roku just makes it wireless so it can be watched anywhere. I haven’t looked at all of the packages that they offer, and there’s quite a few, but there may be some that you can subscribe to that you can get regular TV through and get rid of your satellite but you still need to have a wireless network for this to work. So you need a network provider at a minimum.

You still may need to sign up for a paid app to get all the channels that you desire. Also you will need to make sure your internet speed can handle streaming and is not capped.
