• I know that Sling TV recently came out with a cloud DVR. You may want to look into that.

• The DVR function on a roku will depend on the channel not the roku. Sling TV recently added cloud DVR to its subscription service for an additional $5 per month. YouTube tv has a good DVR service at no additinal cost but they don't have as many channels as sling and YouTube tv is not a channel on roku yet. You would need the youtube tv app/subscription on your phone and a chromecast to watch it.

• I am new at cord cutting but, I got the Roku and the Tablo HDTV, DVR 2 channel tuner, sold by Bestbuy. I have not tested it all together yet but investagate this combo.
