“The description of what’s included said it comes with MOTU Audio Desk software. I don’t see anything about that anywhere else, though. So does it come with the software, and if so, is that all I need to record music?”

It comes with a link to download MOTU Performer but you can use other software, such as Audacity. I haven't bothered with Performer since I already had Audacity, which is enough to record.

This is a program that would allow you to record into meaning that you would only need that program and the microphone to get going!
